520			_aInspired by the lack of positive role models for young people in the popular media and the increasing hypersexualization and objectification of tweens (7-11 year olds), performance artist Bryony Kimmings teamed up with her nine-year-old niece Taylor to invent pop star "Catherine Bennett." With Kimmings inhabiting the character of Bennett and Taylor acting as her career manager, the idea is to produce and explore the influence of a role model created by a nine-year-old for nine-year-olds. Part social experiment, part theater show, Kimmings aims to make this role model famous by manipulating the celebrity-manufacturing methods used by the music PR industry.
